Apple

Apple unveiled multiple new products during its annual fall livestream, listed below:

Apple iPhone 15

Apple launched the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro max. One big change across every model is a new charging port at the bottom of the phone — a USB-C port. Many of Apple’s newest devices, including its MacBooks and iPads, already use a USB-C port. Another change is a 50% brighter screen compared to all iPhone 14 models.

You can read more about the specifics of each model in our Apple pre order announcement article.

Apple Watch Series 9

The Apple Watch Series 9 is similar to the Series 8, one of our favorite fitness trackers. The major changes are internal — namely a new processor inside. The new S9 chip is faster than previous models, according to Apple. Battery life remains unchanged, the Watch 9 gets up to 18 hours of battery life, but screen brightness is up to twice as bright as last year’s model.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Apple Watch Ultra is the brand’s most premium smartwatch. It is made with a titanium body, dual-frequency GPS, and up to 36 hours of battery life, double that of the Series 9 and Series SE. The Watch Ultra 2 has a new internal chip and a 50% brighter screen compared to the Watch Ultra 1, according to Apple.

Amazon

On September 20th, Amazon announced its fall product lineup during an event at its Arlington, Virginia campus. Of the many products the brand announced, the items below are available now:

Amazon Fire TV Soundbar

The Amazon Fire TV soundbar is the first soundbar from the brand. Inside, it has a stereo speaker that supports Dolby Audio, while the outside has a set of physical buttons for media control. It can connect via Bluetooth or HDMI, meaning you can use it for both your TV and streaming music from your mobile devices. It is compact compared to the competition, measuring 24 inches wide and 2.5 inches high.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max

This latest Fire TV streaming stick is Amazon’s most powerful, according to the brand. It supports faster processing speeds, Wi-Fi 6E and more HDR settings. It also adds Fire TV Ambient Experience, a software that shows a dashboard of art, notifications and glanceable information in place of a black screen when you turn off your TV, according to the brand. It also has 16 GB of internal storage, double the previous version’s capacity.

Brooks Ghost Max Running Shoe

The Brooks Ghost Max is a more cushioned version of the brand’s popular Ghost running shoe, and we received it ahead of its launch — the sneaker is one of our new favorites. The added foam underfoot gives the shoe just the right amount of height and bounce without being so tall that it makes us feel unsteady. It also has a gentle rocker that propels us forward to faster mile times. You can buy the Brooks Ghost Max in men’s and women’s sizes.

Nespresso Vertuo Lattissima

Beyond brewing standard cups of coffee and espresso, this appliance also has a built-in milk frother and steamer so you can make cappuccinos or lattes, as well as add warm foam to drinks. The single-serve coffee machine is compatible with large and small Nespresso Vertuo pods, which it reads and adjusts its brew settings accordingly. The appliance has a removable 57-ounce water tank and a detachable 16-ounce milk tank.

Dyson Airwrap Complete Long Diffuse

To better suit curly and coily hair, Dyson now offers its popular Airwrap styling tool with two new attachments: a diffuser and a large round volumizing brush. The diffuser helps reduce frizz and define natural waves, while the large brush adds volume and shape to hair, according to the brand.

Our Place Kitchen Linens

Our Place’s Kitchen Linens collection includes oven mitts, aprons, dish towels and napkins, which you can buy individually or as a set. The exterior of the machine-washable oven mitts is covered in silicone to protect your hands while handling hot cookware, and the inside is lined with soft cotton twill. There’s also a built-in magnet on the mitts so you can hang them up on your refrigerator.

The collection has two aprons: the Home Cook Apron and the Hosting Apron. The Home Cook Apron has an adjustable neck and long waist ties to customize its fit, plenty of pockets and a conversion chart built into one of the pockets to aid you while measuring. The Hosting Apron is meant to be worn while serving or hosting, and it’s more stylish thanks to its pleated back and high neckline. It also has a conversion chart built into its pocket.

Finally, Our Place’s napkins have a built-in loop ring so you can quickly fold them. Its dish towels have a split waffle and flat weave on one side to dry dishes or spills, and a terry material on the other side for scrubbing. There’s also an elastic band on the dish towels so you can use them as a lid cover with the Always Pan.

Steamery Cirrus X Handheld Steamer

This corded handheld steamer is designed to be used at home and while traveling since it has a smaller water tank compared to Steamery’s other models, making it more lightweight. The steamer starts up in 20 seconds and has a steam output of 18 to 20 grams per minute, meaning it quickly removes wrinkles from clothing and linens, according to the brand. You can also hang the steamer up by the loop on the bottom of the handle. It comes with a steamer pad that helps you smooth out creases and protect your hand from the heat.

Therabody TheraFace PRO

Therabody’s wireless light therapy mask has 648 LED lights to offer red light therapy, red light plus infrared therapy and blue light therapy. The mask also has a vibration therapy mode that gives the area around your eyes, browline and scalp a light massage to release tension and increase circulation, according to the brand. A full charge gives you 120 minutes of use with light modes and 60 minutes of use with vibration therapy mode. You can choose from three-minute or nine-minute treatments depending on your skin concerns, and the mask comes with protective removable eye shields. A display stand and charger are also included.

Upgrades from the original include a 24-hour battery, nearly double that of the original, according to the brand. The new version supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, Sonos and Amazon Alexa voice assistants, USB-C and wireless charging. It is IP56 dust and water-resistant, and is available in black, white and green.

Made In Cheese Knife

Made In’s Cheese Knife elevates any charcuterie board and is a great gift for those who love to host. The knife is a limited-edition product --- Made In only produced 1,400 of them, each of which is numbered. The knife has a marbled white handle and a long, sharp steel blade to slice through hard and soft cheeses.

Act+Acre Microbiome Cooling Scalp Serum

Act+Acre developed this serum to relieve dry, itchy scalps and reduce flaking. It’s made with peppermint oil to cool and soothe the scalp, fireweed extract to reduce irritation and an amino complex that balances the scalp microbiome, according to the brand. You can use the serum on all hair types and textures, and apply it daily or as needed to damp or dry hair. The serum is a leave-in treatment, so don’t wash it out.

Magic Bullet Portable Blender

Magic Bullet’s portable blender lets you make smoothies, mixed drinks and more on the go — for example, you can use it at the office, gym and in dorm rooms. The mini appliance is rechargeable via USB-C and you get about 15 blending cycles on a full battery. Magic Bullet’s portable blender comes with a flip-and-sup handled lid that makes it easy to carry and drink from, plus a water infuser insert is included to help you create flavored H20. The blender has a 16-ounce capacity.

Burrow Mambo Collection

Mambo is furniture company Burrow’s fifth seating collection, and it has a more relaxed style compared to some of the brand’s other pieces, making it more comfortable for lounging. You can choose from high or low arms, as well as different upholstery and configuration options.

This Crock-Pot model has a sous vide function, allowing you to cook food in a temperature-controlled water bath once it’s packaged in air-tight bags. The appliance comes with a removable probe to help you ensure food reaches the exact internal temperature you’re looking for, preventing you from over- or under-cooking ingredients. In addition to sous vide mode, you can also slow-cook food and use the keep warm function before you’re ready to serve a meal. You can customize the temperature and cook time settings using the digital controls. The sou vide-specific Crock-Pot comes in a 6-quart Oat Milk color and a 7-quart stainless steel color.

Ancestry Know Your Pet DNA Kit

Ancestry now makes a DNA kit for dogs, giving owners insights into their pets’ genetics, family trees and more. The kit comes with everything you need to take a cheek swab from your dog and mail it to Ancestry’s lab, and in two to four weeks the company emails a report filled with information about your dog. You’ll learn what their breed or mix of breeds is, and traits they’ve inherited that impact their personality, behaviors and appearance. The report also shares genetic matches if any in Ancestry’s database.

Priority Bikes Folding Bike

Priority Bikes makes one of our favorite commuter bikes, and this is the brand’s first folding bike. Like all of the brand’s bikes, it uses a clean, weather-resistant belt instead of a typical bike chain. All of the cogs and gears are housed internally in a hub in the rear, keeping potentially dirty components away from your commuting clothes. The bike weighs 29 pounds and fits riders between 4’6” and 6’4”.

Magic Spoon Treats

Cereal brand Magic Spoon launched Treat bars, which are reminiscent of Rice Crispy Treats and made with gluten-free ingredients. The headset connects over Bluetooth or USB receiver to PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch consoles. It features a Transparency mode that lets you better hear the sounds outside of your headset, a rare feature in gaming headsets. It has up to 35 hours of battery life, and charges over USB-C, according to the brand.

Jabra Elite 8 Active Wireless Earbuds

Jabra makes some of our favorite wireless earbuds, and this latest addition to its active lineup is the most rugged yet. The earbuds have an ingress protection rating of IP68, meaning they are dust-tight and protected against continuous submersion in water up to 1.5 meters — the previous Elite 7 Active was rated a lesser IP57.

Between the earbuds and the charging case, the Elite 8 Active has 32 hours of battery life, two more than the Elite 7 Active. Other features are similar, like a wireless charging case, Siri or Google voice assistant, a Jabra Sound+ app for extra customization and three different size ear tips included in the box.

Jabra Elite 10 Wireless Earbuds

The brand also released the Jabra Elite 10, more audio-quality, everyday-focused wireless earbuds with spatial sound and Dolby Atmos audio built-in. The earbuds still have an ingress protection rating of IP57, meaning they are protected against dust and sudden drops in water. Nutribullet Ultra

This personal blender is Nutribullet’s quietest and most powerful model yet, according to the brand. It has a 1200-watt motor and its blades are designed to last longer compared to those on the brand’s standard personal blender, according to Nutribullet. The blades also come with a 5-year limited warranty. You can choose from two blending modes: an automated 30-second cycle or a pulse function. The blender comes with three dishwasher-safe cups, all of which you can blend ingredients in and drink from. To-go lids are also included.

GoPro Hero 12 Black

Rabinowitz has used the GoPro Hero 10 for over a year to capture smooth video while hiking, biking or doing anything involving lots of water. The GoPro Hero 12, while similar to the 11 and 10, has a few improvements that make it a notable upgrade. This Hero 12 has improved battery life and video stabilization compared to the Hero 11, according to the brand. It also has new features like a vertical shooting mode, where you can shoot vertical videos and photos even if you are holding the camera horizontally. The Hero 12 does remove one feature from previous modes — it does not track GPS or GPS data.

Bissell Little Green Hydrosteam Pet

Bissell’s latest portable deep cleaner is designed to get rid of dirt and stains on multiple surfaces like carpet, upholstery, tile and grout. Similar to the brand’s Little Green Machine — a Select Pet Awards winner — the new appliance creates powerful steam from water and cleaning solution you add to its 64-ounce tank, and it uses suction to lift stains off surfaces. The Hydrosteam Pet offers three cleaning modes, allowing you to choose the one that best fits the mess you’re cleaning and what surface it’s on. It has a separate tank to hold dirty water and comes with a stain eliminator tool as well as a multi-surface tool.

Saucony The Triumph RFG Sneaker

Made with recycled, plant-based and entirely vegan materials, this running sneaker is Saucony’s most eco-friendly model yet, according to the brand. It meets Saucony’s new Run For Good (RFG) sustainability standard, which aims to reduce the brand’s environmental footprint. The shoe’s cushioning is made in part from a corn-based foam, its cotton upper gets its color from plant-based dyes and its outsole is made from natural rubber. The sneaker is available in men’s and women’s sizes.

Samsung ViewFinity S9 Monitor

5K resolution computer monitors are a rarity: the two most notable are Apple’s Studio Display and LG’s UltraFine series. This is Samsung’s first 5K monitor: a 27-inch screen with high color range, accuracy, brightness and pixel density. The screen has a matte finish that reduces glare compared to a  standard display, according to the brand.

It comes with an ergonomic stand that is height, tilt, and pivot adjustable — you can pivot to a fully vertical orientation. Also in the box is a 4K resolution webcam that attaches to the top of the screen.

Peace Out Skincare Retinol Eye Lift Patches

The shape of Peace Out Skincare’s new eye patches cover your under eyes and upper eyelids to target the skin in both areas. The patches are made with retinol to make skin appear smoother by softening the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and peptides to help make skin firmer over time, according to the brand. They’re also formulated with hydrating hyaluronic acid. Peace Out recommends keeping the patches in your refrigerator so they feel cool upon application. Each pack comes with five pairs of patches.

Aarke Electric Kettle

Aarke’s Electric Kettle allows you to control the exact temperature of your hot water by choosing from one between 104 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit — the kettle also remembers the last temperature setting you picked. The appliance has a 5-cup capacity and it’s made from stainless steel with a double wall construction to retain heat, according to the brand. Water boils silently, according to Aarke, and the kettle’s spout helps you pour without dripping. The kettle is built with a removable, dishwasher-safe stainless steel filter. You can open it by pressing a button on its handle, and it sits on a swivel base.

Banza Protein Waffles

Banza, the brand best known for its chickpea-based pasta, now makes chickpea-based waffles, its first new product category since 2020. They come frozen and are available in plain, blueberry and chocolate chip flavors. You can buy them individually and in a variety pack. Waffles are gluten-free and contain 10 grams of protein. Boxes come with six waffles, which you can cook in a pan, toaster or air fryer.

Banza sent me its new waffles to try and I couldn’t tell they were made with chickpeas. I found their texture and flavor largely mimic other frozen waffles I’ve had, and they became crunchy and crispy on the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside when I toasted them. As someone who eats gluten-free, I’m especially excited to have a delicious, frozen waffle option available that’s also packed with protein and keeps me full.

Tuft+Paw Cubby Litter Box

Tuft+Paw’s Cubby Litter Box is a smaller, simplified version of the brand’s Cove Litter Box. It’s made from durable, odor-resistant plastic, according to the brand, and it comes with 8-inch walls that have a corner entry cutout. The walls keep litter inside the box and are semi-transparent so cats can see through them. You can also remove the walls if your cat prefers. The litter box — which measures 21.2 inches long and 15.2 inches wide — has an open top and its feet lift the base above the floor.

Ultimate Ears Epicboom Bluetooth Speaker

Ultimate Ears makes some of the best Bluetooth speakers, and Epicboom is a new, more premium speaker from the brand. It’s designed to be used indoors, outdoors and for travel — it has an ingress protection (IP) rating of IP67, floats in water and can safely be submerged for up to 30 minutes. Battery life is similar to the brand’s other models at 17 hours, but unlike its other speakers, this one charges via USB-C. It can connect to two devices at once and has a 180-foot wireless range.

Halo Collar 3

Halo’s latest GPS dog collar is built with new hardware and software that help it better determine your dog’s location using direct GPS satellite signals, disregarding false signals caused by transmissions that bounce off buildings, trees and more, according to the brand. The collar’s GPS antenna also provides stronger reception in areas with poor or obstructed coverage, and it has a 20% longer battery life compared to previous models. With universal-carrier connectivity, the GPS collar connects to any cellular plan automatically to continuously show dogs’ real-time location. A customizable strap comes with the collar so you can adjust its fit based on your dog’s size.

Solo Stove Mesa Torch

Illuminate your yard with this black steel torch from Solo Stove, which runs on any type of torch oil or fuel. It displays a large, bright flame and has a burn time of about five hours, according to the brand. You can adjust the torch’s height to be up to 52.75 inches, and when it’s time to extinguish the flame, you can use the detachable snuffer.

Great Jones Glossy Dutch Baby

Instead of its typical matte finish, Great Jones’ Glossy Dutch Baby has a shiny finish, which is a first for the brand. The Glossy mini Dutch oven is available in three new colors — Plum (purple), Gorgonzola (blue) and Butternut (orange) — and is available for a limited time. As part of the launch, Great Jones is partnering with the Museum of Food and Drink and donating a portion of sales from the Dutch Babies to support its work in preserving the Ebony Magazine Test Kitchen, which was recently acquired by the Smithsonian.

Wahoo Kickr Move

Wahoo makes some of our favorite gear for cyclists, including indoor trainers that let you mount your bicycle onto a fixed flywheel so you can ride your bike indoors. The new Kickr Move is its most premium indoor trainer — it adds a forward and backward movement axis to the rear wheel, adding a dimension of ride feel that makes this model more engaging, comfortable and realistic, according to the brand. The moving feature can be disengaged with a lockout switch in the rear, making it easier to mount and dismount your bike to the trainer. Like the brand’s other trainers, the Kickr Move can connect to Wi-Fi, smart devices and bike GPS to display power, speed, distance and cadence, and automatically adjust resistance based on your planned route.
